The fabric and design are grounded in purpose, functionality and adventure.
A beacon of Burberry innovation and craftsmanship for more than a hundred years, the trench coat has undergone various interpretations since its inception. Whilst traditional design details such as epaulettes, gun flaps and hardware may differ from season to season, each trench coat is united by our signature gabardine. Invented by our founder in 1879, the fabric has an open and reticular weave that allows the body to breathe and protects from rain and wind.
